Private Lessons are available with all members of the ICONN Coaching Staff by appointment. Lessons are $35 per half hour session. James Harris Club Manager/Coach Coach Harris was a two time monogram winner and former Captain for the University of Notre Dame fencing team. In 2001, Coach Harris took over as head coach for North Haven High School, helping to guide the team to four state championships and two runner up finishes in six years. His fencers have gone on to excel at the collegiate and national levels, fencing for schools such as Brandeis University, Northwestern and the University of Chicago. Coach Harris emphasizes strong fundamentals in his fencers and enjoys coaching fencers of all ability levels. Peter Solomon Club Coach Peter Solomon returned to North Haven in 2006 after fencing for four seasons at Brandeis University. Peter specializes in both foil and epee instruction. Brett Averso Epee and Foil Coach Coach Brett Averso specializes in Epee and Foil instruction. Brett spent several years training and competing at the national level in epee. Brett worked with University of Notre Dame coach Marek Stepian from 2006-07 and returned to Connecticut in the Spring of 2007.. Dave Taylor Club Armorer/Website Development Dave is the Armorer for the North Haven fencing team, and will do equipment repairs for the club. Dave is a website developer professionally, and is responsible for the hosting, development and maintenance of the website.
